Zayon and Sicredi Validate an AI-Powered ESG Advisor for Sustainable Financial Products

Proof of concept, brought together through Next Impact by FENASBAC, tested an explainable recommendation system that helps relationship managers offer sustainable products, with people in control of every decision.
São Paulo, Brazil, December 15, 2025: Zayon, a Brazilian company building Trustworthy AI Decision Infrastructure for financial institutions, has completed a proof of concept with Sicredi, one of Brazil's largest cooperative financial systems, for an AI-powered ESG advisor designed to support relationship managers in offering sustainable financial products.
The project started with a direct question from Sicredi: how can relationship managers be better supported in offering sustainable products to members? Additional training on the product portfolio was not enough. The goal was a system that works alongside the relationship manager, understands each member's context and makes the right sustainable offer easier to identify and explain.
Zayon built a recommendation system that combines machine learning models with explicit business rules. Models identify which sustainable products are relevant to each member's situation. The institution's rules determine what can be recommended, to whom and under which conditions. Every recommendation is contextualized and explained, and the explanation adapts to its audience, from the relationship manager talking to a member to the auditor reviewing how recommendations were made.
The relationship manager remains in control of every decision. The system recommends and explains; people decide. The solution was designed to operate within the requirements of Brazil's data protection law (LGPD) and Central Bank guidelines, and its performance was validated in a controlled environment as suitable for production use.
The proof of concept was made possible by Next Impact by FENASBAC, a program that connects innovative companies with financial institutions to develop and test new solutions.
"Sicredi didn't need more information about its portfolio. It needed a system that thinks alongside the relationship manager and explains every recommendation clearly," said Deborah Nogueira, Founder and CEO of Zayon. "That is what trustworthy AI looks like in practice: recommendations that are contextual, explainable and governed, with people in charge of every decision."
